Hightstown Council To Discuss Hurricane Irene Recovery Efforts Tonight

The Hightstown Council is holding a special meeting tonight to discuss Hurricane Irene recovery efforts, including future options for the location of Borough Hall and police department.

No action will be taken at the meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. in the . 

Borough Hall was closed following Hurricane Irene after , Borough officials have said. Borough employees have been operating out of the public works building.

The also temporarily relocated to the Lucas Electric building on Mercer Street after the storm.

The temporary use and occupancy agreement at is up May 5, and the agenda states the council is discussing contract negotiations with Lucas during a closed executive session before the public meeting tonight.
