District 14 Senate, Assembly Matchups Set

Party-endorsed candidates to run in November Senate, Assembly races.

The votes are in in New Jersey’s first primary elections for 2013.

In District 14, incumbent Democratic Senator Linda Greenstein will attempt to fend off a challenge from Republican Peter Inverso.

Incumbent Democratic Assemblymen Daniel Benson and Wayne DeAngelo are up against Republican challengers Steve Cook and Ronald Haas.

All six candidates running for Senate and Assembly seats in District 14 ran unopposed.

Greenstein (D): Middlesex County, 2,138; Mercer County, 2,031; Total: 4,169

Inverso (R): Middlesex County, 1,690; Mercer County, 2,316; Total: 4,006

Benson (D): Middlesex County, 1,893; Mercer County, 1,887; Total: 3,780

DeAngelo (D): Middlesex County, 1,989; Mercer County, 1,998; Total: 3,987

Haas (R): Middlesex County, 1,637, Mercer County, 2,171: Total: 3,808

Cook (R): Middlesex County, 1,617; Mercer County, 2,232; Total: 3,849

New Jersey's next primary is scheduled for Aug. 13, when Democrats and Republicans will head to the polls to select their candidates for October's special Senate election.
