District 15 Senate, Assembly Matchups Set for November Election

Party-endorsed candidates to run in November Senate, Assembly races.

The votes are in in New Jersey’s first primary elections for 2013.

In District 15, incumbent Democratic Senator Shirley Turner will attempt to fend off a challenge from Republican Don Cox.

Incumbent Democratic Assemblyman Reed Gusciora and incumbent Democratic Councilwoman Bonnie Watson-Coleman are up against Republican challengers Kim Taylor and Anthony Giordano.

All six candidates running for Senate and Assembly seats in District 14 ran unopposed.

Turner (D): Mercer County, 4,953; Hunterdon County, 271; Total: 5,224

Gusciora (D): Mercer County, 4,472; Hunterdon County, 264; Total: 4,736

Taylor (R): Mercer County, 2,049; Hunterdon County, 440; Total: 2,489

Giordano (R): Mercer County, 2,026; Hunterdon County, 448; Total: 2,474

New Jersey's next primary is scheduled for Aug. 13, when Democrats and Republicans will head to the polls to select their candidates for October's special Senate election.
