What's Closed for New Year's Day in East Windsor, Hightstown, Cranbury

Today is New Year's Day. Here's what's closed.

  • All federal, state, and local city and town offices are closed.
  • Most banks are closed.
  • There is no household garbage curbside pick-up in East Windsor, Hightstown, or Cranbury on Christmas. Garbage will be picked up on the next regular pickup date in East Windsor and the next day in Hightstown. In Cranbury, Central Jersey Waste and Waste Management will pick up the next day, and Midco Waste will collect on the next scheduled service day.
  • All branches of the Mercer County Library System, including Twin Rivers, Hickory Corner, and Hightstown Memorial branches, as well as the Cranbury public library, will be closed on New Year's Day. 
  • Many local businesses are closed to allow their employees to spend time with their families. However, the following businesses will be open during normal business hours on New Year's Day:
    • Rite Aid on Dutch Neck Road
    • Walgreens on Princeton Hightstown Road
    • CVS on Route 130
    • CVS on Abbington Drive
    • Target on Princeton Hightstown Road
    • 7-Eleven on Dutch Neck Road
    • Walmart on Route 130
    • WaWa on Hickory Corner Road will open New Year’s Day at 6 a.m.
    • Shoprite on Route 130 will be open on New Year’s Day from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
