Your Local 2011 Primary Voting Guide

In Cranbury, only write-in votes will determine the fall’s candidates.

The June primary will take place Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. throughout the state. Locally, candidates have filed in both parties for the four seats in East Windsor and the two in Hightstown. But with no filers in Cranbury, it’ll be up to voters to write in the name of the candidate they’d like to see.

Candidates

In East Windsor, voters from each of the major parties will vote for four to compete in the spring for four-year seats on the Township Council.

Democrats

  • Janice Mironov (incumbent, mayor)
  • Marc Lippman (incumbent, deputy mayor)
  • Peter V. Yeager (incumbent)
  • John Zoller (newcomer)

Republicans

  • Thaddeus "TJ" Berdzik (newcomer)
  • Steve Commer (newcomer)
  • Robert Ertel  (newcomer)
  • John Guarniere (newcomer)

Hightstown voters from the two parties will each vote for for the two spots that will be up for grabs in the fall on the Borough Council.

Democrats

  • Susan Bluth (newcomer)
  • Rob Thibault (newcomer)

Republicans

  • John Archer (newcomer)
  • Skye Gilmartin (incumbent)

Cranbury had for Township Committee, which means it’ll be up to Democratic and GOP voters to decide who’ll represent their parties in the fall election for the one open seat. The Cranbury Republican Club has Karen Callahan.

Based on last year’s numbers, a Republican will need at least 11 votes to get on the fall ballot, while a Democrat would need a minimum of six, according to county officials.
