Downtown Hightstown, Inc. Wraps Lamposts in Holiday Lights

Yearly tradition reinforces small town feel during the holiday season

Members of Downtown Hightstown, Inc. recently wrapped more than 50 lampposts in downtown Hightstown with garland and white lights, completely funded by private donations.

These lights and garlands compliment the wreaths already hung by the Rocky Brook Garden Club. This effort was originally started a few years ago by resident Chris Moraitis, and it has grown each year as more lights are added.

This year we added an additional 10 poles, so now all of Main Street is wrapped, including up Stockton Street, down Franklin Street, and the additional poles that were added in the Main Street parking lot. There are a few on Bank Street and Franklin Street that remain unwrapped, but we will hopefully add these next year. The downtown looks great lit up in lights!

If you want to join in on the fun, you are invited to our meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at the Hightstown Memorial Library at 7:30 p.m. We are always looking for motivated people to work on projects benefiting the downtown Hightstown area. Hope to see you there.
