Cranbury School Offers 2 New Cranbuddies Preschool Classes

Classes for three-year-old and four-year-olds is being offered.

The Cranbury School District is offering two integrated preschool programs for the 2013-2014 school year titled Cranbuddies. There will be a class for three-year-olds and another designed for four-year-olds. Both classes will be taught by a teacher certified for Early Childhood Development and Special Education and a teacher assistant. 

The new Cranbuddies program for three-year-old children will take place on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Children who require a special education program will also be able to participate in the class.

The yearly tuition for the three-year-old class is $2,450. Four typically developing children will be accepted into the morning program. In order to be considered for acceptance, a child must be a Cranbury resident and eligible for kindergarten in September 2015.

The Cranbuddies four-year-old program will meet five afternoons a week and the yearly tuition is $3,700. Eight typically developing children will be accepted into the program, which will also include children with special needs. In order to be considered for acceptance, a child must be a Cranbury resident and eligible for kindergarten in September 2014.

The three-year-old program will be discussed from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. and the four-year-old program will be discussed from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Applications and program flyers will be available at that time and will also be available in the Child Study Team office beginning on Feb. 13. A deposit fee of $100 is required and applications are due no later than Tuesday, March 5. In case of inclement weather, the Open House will be rescheduled to Wednesday, Feb. 20.

Parents of preschoolers who may be in need of special education services are also encouraged to contact the Child Study Team for further information regarding the preschool program. The program is available to eligible special needs preschoolers at no cost to the parent and transportation is provided.

Transportation for the typically developing children is the responsibility of the parent, however, subscription busing is offered. Please contact the Transportation Department for more information at 609-395-1700, extension 223.
