East Windsor School Board Thanks Donors

The recognitions came at its Monday meeting.

The recognized several businesses and individuals for their donations to the district at its Monday meeting. Their gifts have gone to support classes, programs, special events, families and club activities.

As in the past few years, Bristol-Myers Squibb has made what the district described as “generous” donations to ’s FIRST Robotics Team. The district thanked Frederick Egenolf, director of community affairs. The company’s donation goes to cover the team’s competition fees.

The United Way of Greater Mercer County gave four gift cards, two each from Kohl’s and Barnes & Nobles Books, to a district family in need. The board thanked Ely Mateo, the United Way’s county assistant vice president, for arranging those donations.

The board also recognized Kathy Petti of human resources at , Inc., which donated funds to buy gifts and door prices for kids at the high school Red Cross Club’s holiday party.

Another donor was Jessica Utz, store Manager of the East Windsor , who arranged for the store to give pencils, scissors, glue sticks, and student name plates to the . The board thanked Utz, who has now twice set up donations to district schools.

The board also recognized several individual and family donations.

Hightstown High School teacher Sonya Atkinson donated the money to print T-shirts so that the Life Skills classes could sell them in a school store to improve math skills.

Former Hightstown High School Principal Martin Barlow made a donation to the high school’s Hall of Fame. The funds will go toward scholarships for graduating students.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Ely donated money to the FIRST Robotics Team to help cover its costs. The couple’s grandson Ryan Ely is a member of the team.

Robert Mull gave the ’s Physical Education Department twelve low-impact hydraulic exercise machines.

Lisa Thibault gave the an iMac computer, a keyboard and a flat-screen monitor for classroom use.

“The generosity and interest of these businesses and individuals in the students of the East Windsor Regional School District are greatly appreciated!” the district said in a press release.
