Hightstown HS Robotics Team Scores NJ Record

The high school's first robotics team scored a state record.

Team Mercury, the Hightstown High School First Robotics Team, scored a New Jersey record high score of 355 points at the school's . The all-day event welcomed thirty teams from New York and New Jersey.

Despite initial technical difficulties, Team Mercury won four out of five qualification matches stepping into the winners spot in the finals. The team also won the Rockwell Collins Innovate Award for their dominant robot and for their presentation and engineering notebook.

Advisors Christopher Gray and Julie Kudish helped robot drivers Tristan Duenas and Daniel Cohen; their field coach Christopher Bruno helped the team secure the win.
