Hightstown Juniorettes Spelling Bee Winners Advance to Regionals

The local winners placed in the Jan. 14 competition.

Three great spellers stood out among the 56 students who participated in the Greater Hightstown Juniorettes Annual Spelling Bee last week. The competition took place at Grace N. Rogers Elementary School in Hightstown on Tuesday, Jan. 14. 

First place was awarded to East Windsor resident Tarun Chandanala, second place was awarded to Aarushi Jain, a fourth grade student at Perry L. Drew school, and third place was awarded to Nikita Saripella, a fifth grade student from Walter C. Black elementary. All three competitors will be advancing to the Regional Spelling Bee, which will take place in Verona on Feb. 22.
