Princeton Teachers "Overwhelmingly" Approve Tentative Contract

The Board of Education will vote on the contract Feb. 7.

Princeton teachers have approved a tentative contract with the Board of Education and will now await a board vote on Feb. 7.

"Today was the Princeton Regional Education Association ratification vote," PREA President Joanne Ryan wrote in an email on Thursday. "Princeton Regional Education Association members voted overwhelmingly to ratify the proposed contract."

Teachers have been working under the terms of an expired contract since June 30, 2011. Both sides have been negotiating for more than a year and reached a tentative agreement last week.

Ryan said previously that issues in a new teachers' contract were disputes over salary and benefits.

Neither Ryan nor district officials will reveal the terms of the proposed contract until board approval on Feb. 7.
