Trenton Thunder to Host Good Deed Game vs. Portland Sea Dogs Aug. 24

Fans will be rewarded based on the number of donations they make.

The Trenton Thunder is supporting seven non-profit organizations with its fourth annual Good Deeds Game at Arm &Hammer Park on Aug. 24, the team announced on Tuesday.

The team will reward fans who support any or all of the following drives:

  • A blood drive to benefit the Community Blood Council of New Jersey. The truck will be parked outside the stadium beginning at 3 p.m. Fans who wish to make a donation should make an appointment by calling 866-2GIVENJ. Walk-ins are also welcome;
  • School supplies to support the learning center at the East Trenton Chapter of Habitat for Humanity;
  • Non-perishable food to benefit the Mercer Street Friends Food Bank;
  • Toiletries to support HomeFront;
  • Pet supplies to support The Shelter Animal Project;
  • Clothing to benefit the Rescue Mission of Trenton; and
  • A new book drive through The LundyLaw Library Express to benefit patients at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

Each drive will have a table set up in “Times Square,” which is what the Thunder call the area outside the stadium.

"Our first three Good Deed Games have had such tremendous support from Thunder fans," Thunder General Manager Will Smith said in a prepared statement. "We hope even more families help these worthy organizations this year."

The Thunder will reward fans with the following items:

  • One donation: one ticket for Fan Appreciation Night, Aug. 29 vs. New Britain
  • Two donations: One ticket and the fan will throw out the first pitch during the Aug. 29 game against New Britain;
  • Three donations: Same as two donations, plus the chance to watch the post-game fireworks from the field;
  • Four donations: Same as three donations, plus free parking for the game;
  • Five donations: Same as four donations, plus a Thunder Pint Glass;
  • Six donations: Same as five donations, plus a voucher for a free hot dog, popcorn and soda;
  • Seven donations: Same as six donations, plus a vintage Thunder bobblehead doll.
  • The Thunder’s opponent in the Aug. 24 Good Deed Game will be the Portland Sea Dogs, and the game begins at 7:05 p.m.
