Parade Of Ships! NYC
A wonderful and fun “Memorial To-Do” is to visit NYC for Fleet Week. I love ships and the ocean and anything that has to do with boating and the sea. I love the history behind ocean liners. These passions lead me to want to do things that have to do with any of the above. As well as, it can serve as a wonderful history lesson for your kids (not to mention seeing most of this for FREE, even peeks at Broadway shows).
Fleet Week held in NYC honors the United States Navy & Marine Corps. You can take this opportunity to tour the ships, take part in military demonstrations, the Memorial Day celebration watching a military air show while listening to the singing of taps. All while honoring those who lost their lives in service to the United States.
