The recognition came as part of National Volunteer Week.

The East Windsor Township Committee honored three local Boy Scout leaders May 3 as part of National Volunteers week.

Mayor Janice Mironov personally thanked Peter Freedman, scoutmaster of troop 5700; Bob Brookwell, committee chair of that troop; and Sandy Tootleman, scoutmaster of troop 59.

The mayor's proclamation reads, "through their dedication and hard work, Boy Scout leaders teach young people to make ethical and moral choices and to become responsible, caring, and effective citizens, all while learning new skills, building lifelong friendships, and having fun.”
