Local Government Reorganization Meetings this Week

Here is a look at what is going on in East Windsor, Hightstown, and Cranbury this week.

Government

East Windsor 

The East Windsor Council is holding their Reorganization Meeting at the East Windsor Municipal Building at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The meeting is largely ceremonial and will include the administration of the oaths of office for re-elected Councilmen Hector Duke, Alan Rosenberg, and Perry Shapiro. There will also be various appointments made. A reception with refreshments will follow the meeting. 

Hightstown

Borough Offices will be closed on Wednesday in observance of New Year’s Day. 

The Hightstown Borough Council is holding their reorganization meeting at the First Aid Building at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Recycling will not be collected in Hightstown on Wednesday, because of the holiday, and will instead be collected on Saturday. 

Cranbury 

Cranbury Town Hall will be closing at 1 p.m. on Tuesday for New Year’s Eve and will be closed on Wednesday in observance of the New Year’s Holiday. 

The Cranbury Township Committee is holding their reorganization meeting at the Cranbury Municipal Building at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Glenn Johnson and Daniel Mulligan will be sworn into office and a new mayor will be chosen for 2014. 

Schools 

East Windsor Regional Schools and the Cranbury School are reopening for classes on Thursday. The Peddie School will reopen for classes on Friday. 

Libraries

Libraries within the Mercer County Library System and the Cranbury Library will be closed on Wednesday for New Year’s Day.
