Week Ahead: Council Meetings, Independence Day Celebrations

Check out what is going on in East Windsor, Hightstown, and Cranbury this week.

East Windsor

The East Windsor Council is meeting on Tuesday at the East Windsor Municipal Building at 7:30 p.m. There will be a presentation on Community Energy Aggregation and Energy Reverse Auction and a discussion of the Sustainable Jersey Grant Proposals. There will also be a resolution up for adoption that endorses Mercer County’s purchase of a development easement on Skeba Farm; the council will discuss this before voting. 

East Windsor’s Independence Day celebration is scheduled for Wednesday at Etra Lake Park. The free live music begins at 6 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at about 9:30 p.m. For more information, click here. 


Hightstown

The Hightstown Borough Council is meeting at the First Aid Building on Monday at 7:30 p.m. The council will publicly be discussing the temporary administrative offices, updating the flood map, fees for taxis and educational institutions, and the bond ordinance providing for construction of a new Borough Hall. There is also a first reading and introduction of an ordinance rescinding the previously passed ordinance leasing 100 and 102 Mercer Street for temporary office space. Borough Hall offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday for Independence Day. 

Cranbury

Cranbury Town Hall will close at 1 p.m. on Wednesday and be closed on July 4 for Independence Day. Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday.

Cranbury Township Fireworks are scheduled for Friday at 9:15 p.m. at Village Park. Be sure to bring your blanket, chairs, and dinner and arrive at 6:30 p.m. to hear live music from the Mercer County Community College Orchestra. For more information on the event, click here

A Historic Cranbury Walking Tour will leave from in front of the Cranbury Museum at 11 a.m. on Friday.
