Hightstown Triathlon to Race Through Borough and Surrounding Towns

Triathletes will be pushing their physical limits in the Borough this Sunday.

The Hightstown Triathlon and Aquabike is set for this Sunday, Sept. 22. The race begins at 7 a.m. sharp, but check-in is between 5:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. The 1/4 mile swim, 14 mile bike, and 5k run takes place all around Hightstown, East Windsor, and Robbinsville. 

The swimmers will race around Peddie Lake and then climb on their bikes and travel south through Hightstown ultimately passing the Assunpink Wildlife Refuge along Route 539 and then looping back around. Once back at Peddie Lake, the 5k run route crosses Main Street and travels down Railroad Road following a path that loops through the Borough ending up on Broad Street and back at the lake. 

Registration on race day for individual adult competitors is $95 and $120 for triathlon teams made up of three people. Racers that are pre-registered may pick up their packets on Saturday at the Hightstown Fire Department between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. New racers may also register at that time. If registering on race day, please go the International Roasting Post on Main Street in Hightstown between 5:30 a.m. an d 6:30 a.m. to register. 

The abbreviated kids race will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday and begin at The Peddie School Aquatic Center. Children will be divided into age groups and the race lengths and routes will be different for each group. 

Residents should be aware that the race is taking place on Sunday and should be cautious of racers in the area throughout the day.
