Holiday Donations and Blessing of Animals at Corner Copia Nursery

Winter gear for children and animal item donations are being accepted on Saturday.

Holiday season is the time for giving and this Saturday you can donate to both local children and animals in need. 

The Theresa Cruz Memorial: Bless the Beasts and the Children event will be held at Corner-Copia Nursery in East Windsor this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donations are being accepted for the Children’s Home Society and for the Animal Friends for Education and Welfare and a blessing of the animals and a memorial service for departed pets will take place at 11 a.m. 

The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey is an organization that focuses on protecting children from harm, helping parents to better care for their children, and finding homes for adoptable children. The organization is in need of warm coats, hats, and gloves for children of all ages and sizes.

Other items the Children’s Home Society of New Jersey is in need of includes:

  • diapers
  • baby wipes
  • infant healthcare and grooming kits
  • first aid kits
  • infant care items
  • maternity clothes
  • post-pregnancy clothes
  • health care items
  • children’s books 
  • children’s toys 

The Animal Friends for Education and Welfare is a local animal rescue that works to find orphaned pets permanent homes.

The Animal Friends for Education and Welfare is in need of:

  • dry and canned food for dogs and cats
  • cat litter
  • cat carriers
  • cat beds
  • cat nail clippers
  • pet brushes
  • dog leashes
  • dog collars
  • dog crates
  • dog cages
  • dog beds
  • cat and dog treats 
  • they are also always looking for more foster volunteers

All pets are welcome to attend the Blessing of the Animals by Br. John.  Corner Copia Nursery is located at 299 Princeton-Hightstown Road in East Windsor.
