Hightstown-East Windsor Historical Society
The HEWHS strives to preserve and educate the public about the rich history of the two municipalities. In addition to a number of smaller events, the society holds a biannual historical house tour in October. It also operates the Ely House, a home from 1850 that serves as HEWHS headquarters and the adjacent Sara Hutchinson Museum. Visitors and passersby can also see a section of the railroad that used to run through the heart of the borough.
