You are comparing a high school to the whole of Princeton University, more than 6,000 people?
Gregor Spencer June 12, 2013 at 08:47 pm
you don't have to publish a list of evacuation locations on line or in the newspapers. everyone on…Read More campus should be told where to go in the event of an emergency, but you don't need broadcast it to everyone. having an explosive device in the now publicly known evacuee assembly locations and then calling in a false threat to the main location would cause harm to more people. it's just not a smart thing to do.

"the victim said he was awakened by the burglar but did not call the police until several…Read More hours after the theft" Seriously? Sounds like a made up computer theft story to me. But what do I know? I'd be silly enough to call the police immediately after someone broke into my house.

Many moons ago I worked at ShopRite of East Windsor. I'm a resident of Albuquerque NM now. I come…Read More back to East Windsor to visit my family every couple years and usually go to ShopRite once or twice. The parking lot is utter madness, as always. I can't remember if the sidewalk has those concrete pillars that separate it from the parking lot, but from the description of the story, it doesn't sound like it. My point: if there were concrete pillars installed between the sidewalk and the asphalt, then cars/taxis wouldn't be able to drive on the sidewalk, and they may serve as a barrier to protect pedestrians from out of control vehicles. I also agree with other posters that after a certain age, elderly drivers should be road tested every year. With age, physical reflexes, coordination, reaction time and motor skills
ScreaminChicken1979 June 10, 2013 at 06:17 pm
Post continued: ....motor skills decline. Driving really becomes a safety issue for society at…Read More large. How often do younger adult drivers lose control of vehicles and plow through crowds or storefronts? Too bad this happened. I'm definitely not surprised to hear it though.
Wayne Rogers June 18, 2013 at 02:22 pm
i knew it was only a matter of time until someone was killed in that parking lot. I always told my…Read More wife I would rather take an ass whooping rather than have to go to East Windsor Shop-Rite!

Wow! A lady walking get assaulted and the question is what was she doing out at night?! So if a…Read More drunk driver hits a family at 2 am would we ask why was a family driving that late at night? I hope whatever scum did this get caught and it will be safe for women to leave their homes at whatever time they damn well please

Hope the judge makes an example of him. Other thugs may get picture!!!

What was that commandment ... again?
Oh, Yes, "Thou shalt not steal": it is a sin.

Police Director James LeTellier said that the surveillance footage is evidence in an active…Read More investigation and any footage or pictures cannot be released at this time.

Was this an M80 firecracker? That is an "explosive device" as well. If it was placed where…Read More it would do no damage to vehicles I wonder if our E.W. finest is making a federal case out of something that normally would not have even been talked about. I am not condoning anyone throwing firecrackers around police vehicles-- but my experience with the E.W. police is that they will make the biggest deal they can out of relatively harmless incidents like this. They have been known to charge 13 yr. old kids with firecrackers in the woods with committing a 3rd degree indictable offense (felony). Whoever did it is pretty lacking in judgement, but lets keep things in perspective, folks.

Its a shame the local TGI's are even getting the customers to overpay for Drinks,
No telling what…Read More else they short change you on.
HermieLovr May 24, 2013 at 04:15 am
Ditto!! A measly fine is nothing to them. This is nothing but greed. There is a large profit…Read More attached to liquor by the drink as it is. They SHOULD lose their license. I had a reestaurant for years and went through a depression on top of it. There is NO excuse. SHAME on them for the dishonesty. I hope they get a LOT of chewin' out by the clientele!
Leslie Bianczik May 22, 2013 at 04:31 pm
Interesting how this was reported the next day, not a week later like in Hightstown.
Keepingitreal May 19, 2013 at 04:55 pm
Excellent point Nadine! The township will not do that, instead they will put a "no turn on…Read More red" sign. Yesterday while trying to turn right onto Route 130 at that light, Halderman Ford allowed a food drive on their lot corner.
Great Big Dummy May 19, 2013 at 09:58 pm
Your talking about the wrong intersection. The accident happened at the next light south.
Sherms mommy May 24, 2013 at 03:03 pm
Get your facts straight Nadine. The accident was at a different intersection
Nadine Sauer May 19, 2013 at 12:49 am
No surprise here..... Haldeman Ford ALWAYS parks their biggest trucks and SUV's at the corner of…Read More their building, COMPLETELY obstructing the view of oncoming traffic. The intersection is at a slight curve and with the vehicle obstructing the view , this poor soul never stood a chance. He could not have seen the oncoming cement truck until it was too late and he was well into the intersection. Point in reference, they still have a huge SUV with a snowplow sitting there in the corner today, still at the corner of the building even after this horrific and tragic and possibly avoidable accident. Wondering why this is legal to obstruct the view of a very fast moving and dangerous intersection
Jay L June 2, 2013 at 02:53 am
This WASN'T the intersection of 130 and hickory corner road it was the next one going southbound.
terribly tired of this May 20, 2013 at 12:57 am
You mean the sixties when Hightstown kids of all color, played together on the streets til dark,…Read More when we knew the ONE family next door neighbors, when the ONE taxi company followed the law, when loiterers in town were told to move on, and bikes were not allowed on sidewalks. You're right Bettie and Torry, our town sure is a better place today now, isn't it.
Joe May 11, 2013 at 04:35 am
There are no words, this is simply awful and no one could've seen this coming.

This is the second young man from the HHS class of 2012 to die tragically in the past 3 months. May…Read More God watch over & protect the rest of '12. May he welcome Riley into his open arms & may He hold his family tight & comfort them in the face of this unspeakable tragedy.
Robert Langdon May 11, 2013 at 11:54 pm
I was texted the Monday evening Thinault comments about his created threats and immediately sent…Read More copies to the newspapers, the council, and the borough clerk. The email address for Thibault giben me did not show any names and the body of the emails did not address individuals. It was advice on the the potential results of continuing his vendetta against the petition for referendum and blaming Mike Theokas for the failure to rebuild Borough Hall immediately. Now we have Torry Watkins attacking JP GIbbons and Gene Sarafin for having a distortionate influence on the council by being buffoons while he stays at home and says nothing on the public record. The parallel given between Detective Miler and Robert Langdon is again commented on. Mr. Thibault does need sympathy but not for letters sent to him via email but for his paranoia abut any comment. He lives in a world of constant perceived threats.
Lynden Arden May 29, 2013 at 12:40 pm
I think there were two Lukoils in Lawrence as I recall, the Lawrenceville station near the Rehab…Read More center and another station in S. Lawrence near Texas Ave. I believe the Texas ave location is now the Pasmel.
Fuelish Person May 29, 2013 at 05:43 pm
Yes, Lynden, the one on Texas was involved too. It was closed for several days after the incident.…Read More I assumed at the time that it was basically a screw-up. Otherwise, I don't understand why they would deliberately try to pass off gas that typically costs more than $6/gal as auto gas. Maybe there is more to the story.
