Chef and restaurateur opens new restaurant at local mall

The latest addition to the Freehold Raceway Mall arrived on Wednesday morning when Bobby Flay opened his newest Bobby's Burger Palace. The restaurant offers wide variety of options including his well known hamburgers, sandwiches and sides, and there was a crowd waiting to try the food and meet the Iron Chef himself.  The business opening had a charitable beginning: $1 of the purchase price of every burger sold during the first week of operation will go to The Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. -- Follow East Windsor Patch on Facebook, Twitter and sign up for the daily newsletter.

Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay Opens Restaurant at MarketFair

The casual burger restaurant is centers on a simple concept: burgers, French fries and milkshakes.

Celebrity chef Bobby Flay was at MarketFair Mall Tuesday, personally opening his fourth New Jersey location of Bobby’s Burger Palace. “At any time of year, my favorite thing to eat is a cheeseburger,” Flay said. In fact, when he and his colleagues in the restaurant business used to go out after a long day of work, they didn’t seek nouveau cuisine. “We were never looking for foie gras or caviar, we always wanted comfort food,” Flay said. “I always ordered a burger and I thought ‘Wouldn’t it be cool to have my own burger place.’” His dream came true in 1998, when he launched Bobby’s Burger Palace, which now has 11 locations across the U.S. The 73-seat casual burger restaurant on Route 1 in West Windsor is named after Flay, a chef, …

Celebrity Chef to Open Burger 'Palace' in West Windsor Mall

The restaurant is expected to open this month.

Celebrity Chef Bobby Flay's signature Bobby’s Burger Palace will open at MarketFair Mall in West Windsor this month, according to a flyer from the restaurant.  This will be the restaurant chain's fourth New Jersey location, with others located in Eatontown, Paramus and Cherry Hill.  The casual burger chain is named after chef, restaurateur, cookbook author and TV personality Bobby Flay. Flay is best known for his television shows and the shows he participates in on the Food Network, including Throwdown with Bobby Flay,Bobby Flay's Barbecue Addiction and Iron Chef America.
