Cranbury Board of Education Election Today

Four uncontested seats and a budget on the ballot

Cranbury residents will be headed to the polls today to vote in the annual Board of Education elections. The township is one of just 41 across the state that opted to keep their school elections separate from the general elections in November.  According to information on the district's website, the total general fund expenditures are close to where they have been for the past few years. The proposed budget is for $15,570,169, which is a slight increase over last year's $15,519,528.  Out of the total budget, 49.3 percent goes to salaries, wages, and benefits while 25 percent goes to the Princeton Public Schools for high school tuition. Cranbury School Gets New Chief, Principal

Susan Genco has been chosen as the new chief school administrator and Cranbury School principal.

An emergency meeting was held by the Cranbury Board of Education Wednesday evening to select Susan Genco, Ed.D, as the district’s new chief school administrator and principal of the Cranbury School. This past January, the district began an extensive search for this position and Dr. Genco was selected this week in a unanimous vote of 7-0. “I couldn’t be more excited because during the interview process I learned that Cranbury shares my beliefs in education, and I am looking forward to learning more about the community,” Dr. Genco said.
