East Windsor Man Dies in Car Crash with Concrete Truck

Rangarau Sudhakara, of East Windsor, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 74-year-old East Windsor resident died in a car crash Wednesday after his car collided with a truck on Route 130; he was pronounced dead at the scene. East Windsor Police responded to the collision on Route 130 north at the intersection of Route 33 at around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday. An International Truck shipping materials for the Mershon Concrete Company hit an Infiniti sedan as it entered into an intersection on Route 130 South from Route 33 West, according to police. Both of the cars stopped on the center median of Route 130.  The driver of the sedan was Rangarau Sudhakara, of Sousa Court in East Windsor; he was extricated from the car and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Woman Allegedly Tries to Fraudulently Get Percocet from CVS

East Windsor police arrested a Plainsboro woman for reportedly trying to obtain Percocet with a forged prescription.

A Plainsboro woman was arrested by East Windsor police for allegedly trying to obtain a prescription from the CVS Pharmacy on Route 130 with a forged prescription. According to East Windsor police, Letitia Simonson, 27, was attempting to fraudulently fill a prescription for Percocet tablets shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 29. Simonson was arrested and charged with attempt to fraudulently obtain a prescription legend drug. She was later released pending court action.

Tires Slashed on 9 Cars in East Windsor

All of the cars were vandalized within a three day period.

Nine cars parked within East Windsor Township have had their tires slashed within three days. All of these occurrences are currently being investigated by police. Seven cars had their tires slashed during the overnight hours between April 10 and April 11 in the area of Hawthorne Lane and Iris and Brooklawn Drives. Three tire slashings took place on Hawthorne Lane, three on Brooklawn Drive, and one on Iris Drive. A window was also broken on one of the cars on Hawthorne Lane. The total value of the damage is estimated at $1,420, according to police. Another vehicle had its tires cut while it was parked in the lot of Wyncrest Apartments. One tire of the car was slashed on April 11 and then all four tires were slashed on April 12, police said…

East Windsor Man Charged with Aggravated Assault of Police Officer

William Castro-Plaza allegedly fled from an East Windsor police officer and then assaulted him while trying to get away.

A 30-year-old East Windsor man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault of a police officer on Thursday, April 11. Ptl. Robert Davison was approaching a suspicious vehicle parked on the corner of Westfield Road and Winchester Drive when he saw the passenger, identified as William Castro-Plaza, swiftly exit the car flee on foot. While running, Castro-Plaza threw a bag into a bush which police later learned contained beer bottles. Davison pursued Castro-Plaza and caught him at the front door of his home on Winchester Drive, but Castro-Plaza was able to force his way into his home while the officer held him. Man Killed in Windsor Castle Stabbing

Christian Lemus-Estrada has been arrested and charged with homicide and weapons offenses.

A man was killed Friday night after being stabbed in the torso with a kitchen knife inside of a Windsor Castle apartment in East Windsor, according to police. Christian Lemus-Estrada, 18, allegedly stabbed Carlos Rafael Tinizhanay-Arias, 28, at around 11:40 p.m. on Friday, April 19. Tinizhanay-Arias was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hamilton Hospital for treatment and was pronounced dead at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 20, East Windsor police said. The apartment where the stabbing took place was rented by an acquaintance of both Tinizhanay-Arias and Lemus-Estrada. East Windsor Police Arrest 3 on Drug Possession, 1 DWI

Three men were charged with possession of marijuana in East Windsor.

The East Windsor Police Department has reported two drug arrests and one DWI arrest recently. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. ------------------------------------- Two East Windsor men were arrested on drug charges after being pulled over on Dorchester Drive during the early morning hours of April 5. Ptl. Joseph Amejka stopped the car because several items were hanging from the rearview mirror obstructing the driver’s view. However, Amejka reportedly smelled marijuana from within the vehicle. An investigation revealed that the driver, Erich Ochoa, 19, was in possession of a bag of marijuana and the passenger, Aaron Ramierez, 22, was in possession of a digital scale and marijuana pipe. Police: Man Shoplifts Flat Screen TV from East Windsor Walmart

The television was valued at approximately $1,550.

A Trenton man was charged with shoplifting after he allegedly stole a flat screen television from the Walmart in East Windsor on March 24. East Windsor police were dispatched to the Walmart after a report was made that a man had bypassed the checkout lines and left the building while in possession of a flat screen TV valued at $1,549.28. Jonathan Ford, 48, was located in the parking lot by police and identified by store personnel as the man who had stolen the television. Ptl. David Oleksy arrested Ford and he was charged with shoplifting. Ford posted bail on several other outstanding warrants from other jurisdictions.

That would result in underemployment among our police and store security guards with a net negative benefit to our economy. Police Prevent Crack Cocaine Sale at Windsor Castle Parking Lot

The alleged drug dealer and buyer were arrested.

Cleveland Johnson, 44, of Windsor, was arrested on March 30 for allegedly attempting to sell crack cocaine to Omar Lance, of Trenton, in the parking lot of Windsor Castle Apartments. Police approached the suspicious vehicle that smelled of marijuana. Upon further investigation, Ptl. Troy McWhorter realized that the people in the car, Johnson and Lance, 42, were in possession of a marijuana cigarette. McWhorter found Johnson to be in possession of several baggies of crack cocaine that was packaged in a manner consistent with distribution, according to police. Johnson was charged with possession of crack cocaine and distribution of crack cocaine and Lance was charged with possession of marijuana under fifty grams.

Colonade Motel Man Charged with Heroin, Narcotic Possession

The man also allegedly threatened to rob several East Windsor businesses.

East Windsor police were contacted about a suspicious man who had entered several local businesses and joked about robbing the establishments on March 25. Police located the suspicious individual, identified as Cory Nelson, in a room at the Colonade Hotel. Nelson, 26, was found to be in possession of three bags of heroin, several prescription narcotic pills, and a straw for ingesting heroin, according to East Windsor police. The man was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, possession of prescription narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, and disorderly conduct. 

He was remanded in Mercer County Corrections Center in default of $20,000 bail.

Motor Vehicle Accident Sends East Windsor Woman to Hospital

Police said that the woman sustained non-life threatening injuries.

A motor vehicle collision on Route 571 sent an East Windsor woman to the hospital on Thursday afternoon. Kshama Jagdale, 46, came to an abrupt stop for a school bus that had its loading and unloading signals activated while driving on Route 571 near Route 133. The car driving directly behind Jagdale was unable to come to a full stop and struck her vehicle, police said. Jagdale sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to East Windsor Police, but was sent to Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro for an evaluation of her injuries. Robert Vickers, 42, of Lumberton, was driving the vehicle that struck Jagdale. East Windsor Police issued Vickers a careless driving ticket.

I believe that vehicles in both directions are supposed to come to a stop when a school bus with its red lights flashing is discharging students. So, the woman *had* to stop. It is the other guy who wasn't paying attention and caused the accident. Thank god, no students were in their path, and no one was seriously injured. -Jason   more ›
