Mayor Janice S. Mironov recognized the Township Commission on Aging and East Windsor Senior Center volunteers for their service. She praised the members of the Commission on Aging for assisting in the development and implementation of activities and services for local senior citizens. “The Commission on Aging plays an important role for the senior citizens of East Windsor and exemplifies the wonderful spirit of volunteerism," Mironov said. The NJDOT Fiscal Year 2013 Municipal Aid Program awarded East Windsor a grant for road improvements.

East Windsor Township has been awarded a $249,000 grant from the New Jersey Department of Transportation Fiscal Year 2013 Municipal Aid Program for roadway improvements to the entire length of Yorkshire Drive from Oak Creek Road to Wiltshire Drive. The $249,000 state grant will be used to resurface the roadway, as well as other associated improvements to curbing, drainage and handicap ramps. Construction work will be undertaken over the summer. "We are pleased to receive this roadway improvement grant for Yorkshire Drive, and look forward to continuing our efforts to improve another important roadway area in East Windsor," Mironov said. Mayor Mironov’s annual address will include a report on accomplishments in 2012 as well as the Township’s goals for this year. East Windsor Mayor Janice Mironov, in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) (April), hosted a tree lighting ceremony with representatives of Womanspace. Participants included Womanspace SAAM Coordinator and East Windsor resident Alison Daks, representatives of Womanspace, members of the Domestic Violence Victims Response Team, Chief of Police James Monahan and Township police officers, Deputy Mayor Alan Rosenberg and Council Member Perry Shapiro. The tree, which sits along One Mile Road outside the East Windsor Police/Court Building, was decorated with teal lights to symbolize the community’s commitment to sexual assault awareness, deterrence and prevention. East Windsor Mayor Janice S. Mironov proclaimed the month of April Alcohol Awareness Month and presented a Mayoral Proclamation and a $1,000 check from a grant awarded to the East Windsor Municipal Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse to members of the East Windsor Regional School District Hightstown High School After Prom Committee. After Prom Committee Co-Chairpersons Linda Heller and Nancy Solarski accepted the check.
