The New Jersey Turnpike Authority has informed East Windsor Township Mayor Janice S. Mironov that the new ten lane East Windsor interchange 8 toll plaza will be fully open on Saturday, Jan. 26. The relocation and opening of the new Interchange 8 toll plaza will be done in phases which began on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at midnight and will conclude on Saturday, Jan. 26 in the early morning. Signage will be erected throughout the area to assist motorists during the conversion. Starting Friday, Jan. 25, all traffic entering East Windsor through exit 8 will access the new toll plaza. The current interchange plaza, and all ramps leading up to it, will be completely closed beginning Friday and signs will be directing vehicles to the newly opened toll …

The NJ Turnpike Authority Offers Toll Discounts.
Miffed about the latest toll hikes? There’s relief – for some. New Jersey drivers may be able to take advantage of a few different discounts at toll plazas on the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike. If you’re over 65, drive a hybrid or pull a trailer, you could shave a little off all or most tolls, though it usually depends on when you're driving. Read on for details, and visit the Turnpike Authority’s discounts webpage for application forms. Details on truck and bus discounts are also available. Turnpike Authority spokesman Tom Feeney said the senior discount and green discount have been around since 2008, but remain underused. Tolls increasing by 50 percent to raise money for state capital projects.
Due to a phased plan increase approved by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority more than three years ago, tolls on both the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway will go up in price by 50 percent, beginning at 6:30 a.m. Jan. 1. Under the new increases, toll rates on the Garden State Parkway will increase from $0.35 to $0.50 for ramp tolls, from $0.50 to $0.75 for two-way toll plazas, and from $1 to $1.50 for one-way toll plazas. It is the third hike in tolls for the Parkway since its opening in 1954, and the seventh for the New Jersey Turnpike since that highway’s inception in 1951.
