This week's Reader's Choice poll asked where you go when you can't go away on vacation. The winner is New Brunswick.
When they can't get away, Patch readers say that dinner and a show in New Brunswick ranks as their favorite staycation location, with 28 percent of the vote. Hiking and other outdoor activities at the Mapleton Preserve in Kingston came in second (19 percent) and the Crystal Springs Family Aquatic Center came in third (13 percent). Not everyone wants or can get away for a week's vacation, but that doesn't mean we aren't looking for fun and enriching things to do during our time off. This week, Patch wants to know what you do when you don't want to go too far from home. We've drawn our initial list from our "Places" directory in Mercer and Middlesex counties, but we encourage you to post comments suggesting the addition of any places that are not included. Voting closes at 9 a.m. Friday. Ties will be broken by location with the most positive comments below, and reviews on Patch Places. We will announce the winner at noon Friday.
