East Windsor School Board Honors Spellers
Orthography, not wizardry, is these kids' bailiwick.
Two spelling bee champions were recognized Monday night at the East Windsor Regional Board of Education meeting. Both Siddharth Challani and Anushka Subrahmanian received certificates for their hard work and accomplishments. Anushka, a fourth-grader at the Ethel McKnight Elementary School, placed first in the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Club—Juniors Membership State Spelling Bee on March 12. Before moving on to the State Spelling Bee, Anushka had to place in the top three at a local bee and then win another bee at the regional level. A total of 18 contestants competed in the State Spelling Bee. Anushka competed in five rounds as well as a sixth round spell-off. After correctly spelling the word “bilingual,” she was named the …
