East Windsor Elementary School Student Places Second in County’s Anti-Bullying Awareness Art Contest

Third-grader Daniel Wersching was recognized during last Monday’s Board of Education meeting

At the Dec. 10 East Windsor Regional School District Board of Education meeting, Walter C. Black Elementary School third-grader Daniel Wersching was recognized for winning second place in the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Anti-Bullying Awareness Art Contest in the Elementary 3-5 Division. “It was clear to the judges that the students who participated in this contest took the project very seriously, and their art work spoke out strongly against bullying,” stated a news release from the district. Wersching received a $25 Visa Gift Card from the Prosecutor’s Office for winning second place.  “The Board of Education and the East Windsor Regional School District are very proud of Daniel’s achievement and wish him continued success in all …

Video: Community Members Become 'Teacher for a Day'

Putting the day job aside, community leaders, business owners and elected officials were among those who stepped into a new set of shoes for the day, as teachers.  Around 20 participants, including a state assemblyman, freeholders, mayors, council and board of education members, business owners and reporters (including East Windsor Patch Local Editor Ashley Peskoe), participated in the 'Teacher for a Day' program last Thursday.
