Powerball Jackpot Soars to $600M for Saturday Drawing

If you draw the Powerball winning numbers in Saturday’s lottery, you could score $600 million, or a $350 million one-time payout.

Powerball results were watched closely Wednesday when the jackpot was $363 million. After no one picked all six winning numbers, the new Powerball prize for the Saturday, May 18, drawing is now $600 million. The one-time cash payout is estimated at $350.1 million. Tickets are $2 and the game is played in New Jersey and 42 other states, including New York, Florida, Texas and California. Tickets will be sold up to an hour before the 11 p.m. drawing. The largest Powerball Jackpot cash payout to date was a $384 million win on Nov. 28, 2012, in Arizona and Missouri. Wonder what happens to the folks who hit it big? UPDATED: Tinton Falls Couple Wins $70 Million Powerball [VIDEO]

Cha-ching! The couple took a lump sum pay-out of $41.5 million.

Joseph and Celeste Tamburello of Tinton Falls are the holders of the March 21 NJ Powerball winning ticket purchased at the Little Silver Family Pharmacy. "Unbelieveable," Celeste said of the $70 million jackpot she and her husband of 13 years claimed on Monday. "I just never in a million years thought that a $2 lottery ticket could turn into a $70 million Powerball ticket. That's for sure." Celeste, 41, said that she could still picture herself getting out of the car at the Little Silver Family Pharmacy where she said she just happened to stop to get a prescription filled on Sunday, March 18.
