A fair point, Les. I didn't mean exclusively Hightstown residents, but there's only so much you can fit in a headline or lead sentence. That said, I'll adjust the wording a bit so it's clear not everyone was from Hightstown (though I'm sure some would argue the borough and the township are in many ways the same community).

ReplyMy dad is incredibly hard to buy gifts for. Unless he's specifically asked for something by name and brand, the only thing he's guaranteed to like is fancy jams, jellies and honeys (which is what he's getting this year). But even with my skewed perspective, I think it's fair to say that, really, no dad wants a tie!

As Mel said, this article is exclusively about the local property tax. The majority if your tax bill is made up of other taxes, notably county and state.

Gabe, as far as I've been told and can tell, the agreement was hashed out over several months between the council and the chief (and presumably each party's attorney) in council sessions that were closed to the public.
